Doing the Title Thing. . .
posted by KKT at 8:22 AM
Lots of MT bloggers have this "title thing" going, so maybe I'll give it a go. It's so easy and fun with the NEW & IMPROVED blogger! Since downing that bottle of wine two nights ago, I've had a headache. Maybe I won't have any drinkies this weekend (more to come on that prospect...)? Even though I had a monster headache yesterday, I woke up at 6 am and allowed my day to begin with a little email and then off to run errands.
I waited at Etisalat for 40 minutes to learn that (1) I had to have Hubband's passport and signature to change our emirates email address (from 'jimt' to 'twothoms', isn't that cute?) which only reminds me that I am living in the Red Tape Capital of the World, and (2) I did not need to go to the Etisalat office to subscribe to mms - I just had to dial '122' and select Option No. 4. Thanks, Etisalat!! You're the best. (barf.)
Then I went down to Bur Dubai's computer district to finally get the final color cartidge for our printer. Nobody seems to carry the blue ink for the Epson CX5200. I was so pleased to find a supply store with lots and lots of ink and lots and lots of cool photo paper, I spent a whole 141 Dhs.
That brought my day to around 1:00 which not only is my feeding time, but also when most everything closes until 4:00 so I headed back home. Ailsa called and we decided I would bring my tuna salad and yummy rolls over to make sandwiches at her place. We had lunch and then she and the baby came with me to finish the rest of my errands. To all you moms out there: I don't know how you run around with those little ones. It takes about 3 times as long to do anything with one of those kidos in tow!
Hmm... blah, blah, blah - this is getting to be a boring post. I finished running errands, I still had my headache, was so lazy and heachachey that we had sandwiches for dinner.
Headache was still with me this morning but now is gone. Will meet Hubband at the driving range for some breakfast and then do some shopping at the Nad al Sheba Market (Katie - going to be looking for those red/gold camel blankets for you this morning).

Omigoodness! Omigoodness!! I'm getting excited about coming home!! My mom is back from Mexico, safe and sound. She loved her Red Envelope gift (cool "how to write your own autobiography" journal kit) and has tried on the golf shoes I had sent to her house (my birthday gift to myself) and says they will definitely fit! Hoorah!!

Miss Z has graciously offered her wheels while she is out of town and I'm in town. How nice is that?! Gracias, senorita!
I've confirmed a few dates... GNO/Shopping, sleepover with The Fat, hangin' with Miss Casey, visit my bro and his wife in San Antonio, lunch and cards with the Cuero Ladies... so much to do!
I may go get this lumpy head dog for the weekend. We discovered that Pluto had a large bump on his head yesterday (it looked like he was trying to sprout a horn!) so I took him to the vet. He drained the bump and said to keep an eye on him. What a sweet puppy. I had to take him home for about an hour before his appointment and he was an absolute angel! He wiggled out of the back pen area and I found him sitting (not digging!) in a flower bed. The cool dirt must have felt nice on his little fuzzy puppy belly. We'll see. Three dogs for three days may turn me three shades of crazy.

Woooo, hooo!!! this is hellacool. Thanks, Leah, for drawing my attention to blogger's new tools. Me likie!! Well, our weekend is over and The Man is back at work. Good weekend!! Thursday night we had neighbors Steve & Ailsa over for dinner and The Man brought Dave over from work. Kebabs, rice, salad, and wine. And more wine. The boys stayed up 'til the sun was peeping over Dubai and I was cozy in bed resting up for second trip to Wild Wadi. Man, I love that water park.

Dean & Gisele picked us up around 10:45 so we could be some of the first people to hit the slides. It was a great day, but I've decided I should think about wearing a helmet to Wadi. Last time, I banged up my foot (which is still sporting a nice lump and tremendous bruising). This time, while half-way up a slide, I lost my tube. That's right. A big ol' six foot girl flailing about trying to get her big arse back on the tube before hitting the intense water jets that would have surely removed my bikini bottom. I managed. I don't know how, but I managed. Hopefully, nobody saw me.
The next morning, I woke with a sore shoulder and back. Didn't think much of it and headed off for our 9:30 tee time. I played fairly decent considering it was 108 F and I hadn't swung a club in almost three months. I bolted into the air conditioned club house as soon as we finished, rinsed my arms and face off, chatted with Simon about finishing the golf lessons I bought six months ago, and then made my way to the table where The Man had a cold beer waiting. Ahhhh... wait! What's that? I can't move! My back was totally stiff and sharp pains began shooting up my spine. Must've been the twisting tumble I took at Wadi... oy. Hello, heating pad and pain killers.
