Hubband will be home in less than four hours. I can. not. wait. I've been burning the last few hours online getting prepared for... MY TRIP HOME!!! Talking to friends about plans is really getting me pumped. It's going to be a bit of a tangle to get to see everyone, but I'm going to try. Maybe they'll just have to come to me on the 21st. Helluva big party goin' down!! Then there's Kimifest '04 in San Antonio, visiting old high school friends in Cuero, spending quality time with Mom and Granny in Victoria... so little time!!

So I've decided what I need. MUSIC. If anyone has extra time... burn me a CD. I need music from this decade, people!!
A thousand thanks, Kim
I've been sick for two days. My whole body is sore. My head hurts and I have no appetite (which proves I'm not well). The Man comes home today. Finally, after eight days. Maybe my body is aching just because I miss him so.

I am getting excited about COMING HOME!!! Wooooooooooooooooot!!! I can't believe it's only three weeks away. Still want to get more gifts to take home. I guess I'll stuff my luggage with gifts and just have to buy clothes while I'm there. Boo. Hoo. GAP SALE RACK, here I come!
I have been very unproductive these past few days. I feel gross and just need to get out of the house.

I'm shopping for a rental car to use while I'm home. I'm a little shocked. It's going to cost me over $800 to have wheels during my two weeks in Texas. Anybody have any ideas? Coupon codes? Anything? I hate to waste all that dough on zoom zoom when it'd be much more fun to drink it up...

First things first. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!! Even though she'll never see it, I have to wish my best friend through thick and thin the best birthday ever as she basks in the Mexico sun. I know she's having a great time, but it's killing me not to be able to see her or even call her on her special day.

Now... on to other things. The Smug Married Party was actually a lot of fun!! Drew and Kirsten (The Hosts) had about 25-30 guests to celebrate their friend Claudia's birthday (a lot of brithdays going on lately). Catus Cantina (one of the only Texas-owned Restaurants in Dubai) catered the event and had fairly authentic margaritas being served by the closest thing we have to an authentic Mexcian waitor - a Hindi waitor. It's close, but not the same. I miss those career Mexcian waitors at El Tiempo in Houston. These men are so professional in their crisp white shirts and handsome with the lines of wisdom and sun on their face. A far cry from the bobbleheaded Hindi waitor assuring you that a Wodkarita is the same as a Margarita. I knew better and switched to beer when the Tequila ran out.
I managed to re-program a few lost numbers and gain a few new ones during the party. Two of which were Drew's sisters (interesting note: their whole family has lived here since the late 80's!) who invited me to 'Co-ed Spa Night' which was held at their apartment in Bur Dubai on Sunday night. I was all over that. Ummm... spa treatment. Wine. Girl talk. Cheese. Ummm... spa treatment. It's a no brainer. I'm telling you people - this is the way to go. Spa treatment in the comfot of your very own home with 5-8 of your closest friends, and with ummm... lots of wine.
The next day I woke up feeling pretty lousy. I don't know if it was a 24 hour bug or all the toxins that were released during my 45 minute back rub down, but I was in bed all day. At 6:00 pm I finally managed to pull myself out of the hole I'd formed in the bed and get a swimsuit on. I thought a little low-impact water movement would be good for my muscles. I do feel better today, so hopefully, I'll be 100% by the time my man gets home.
Oh!!! On Saturday morning, Gisele and I went down to Karama to look at stuff to take back as gifts. Naturally, I ended up spending a bulk of change on myself. Bad shopper, Kimi!! [slaps hand] I bought a faux LV duffle bag - anyone interested? For about 1/8 of the price, I hope it doesn't fall apart in the security scanner.
