Life has settled a bit since returning from Cairo. Other than the celebration of a certain 30th Birthday, we’ll be nice and rested for our trip to Paris in June.

This birthday thing has me a bit wonky. Usually, I’m in full on party mode in the month of May, but this year is different. Not having my friends around to celebrate with has managed to put a huge damper on my birthday mood. Poor Jim is left holding the bag and scrambling to make something happen. I would rather it just be the two of us at a nice dinner with a couple bottles of red. Normally, this time of year I would be heading up to the Ranch for Kimifest. The car would be loaded down with The River Rat, Spinach Dip, bloody mary makin’s, beer, more beer, swimsuits, sunblock, and a cowboy hat. Top down, blowing past the pastures of old oak trees and lazy cows, with Dixie Chicks blaring. This year I would have had my husband by my side. A Kimifest Rookie.
The Texas Blowout will have to wait ‘til August.
My phone is on the fritz. Every time I try to call out is says “Number Barred” and flashes a little red stop sign. Not good. I guess I’ll be going down to the Etisalat building to get a new SIM card today.
