Great weekend! The races on Thursday night were awesome!! We sat up in the restaurant box overlooking the pristine race track (both dirt and grass, which I'd never seen). Although the bird's eye view was breathtaking, I couldn't help wanting to be down on the grass, near the track, watching those magnificent animals thunder by only a few feet from my face.

Yesterday, we went for our weekly outting to the driving range, but took Dave with us. It's so relaxing to just hit some balls out in the sun and relax with a cold beer afterward. It's the perfect Sunday.... errr.. Friday routine.
Good news for this week!! I've got an interview at V&E (the big firm that snubbed me my first year in Houston) and I've got three days of teaching assignments. Wednesday is Valentine's Day and I'm at a loss of what to get my new husband. Hmmm... Any ideas? Be nice.

Wow. What a week! Jim has two new guys in the office this week (one here permanently, the other leaving in a week) so he's been working late and getting them off to a running start. K9 has been nuts - have placed quite a few dogs and helped find the owner of a Golden Retriever that was found in the middle of traffic on the Beach Road. Stupid woman!

On Wednesday, after K9, I ran around trying to pick up last minute items at the grocery store(s). FYI: it is impossible to find everything on your grocery list at one store, you must go to at least two stores to locate the exact items you need. At my second grocery store stop, I glanced into the frozen juice bin and my eyes lit up as if the Holy Grail were sitting inside. There they were. Six little cans of Minute Maid Limeade Juice. Margaritas!!! Whhooooohoooo!! I immediately SMS'd my hubby to let him now that night's dinner party would now have a Mexican Theme, cuz the Ritas were ON!! I scooped up some avadacos before leaving and scat home to make some delicious tex-mex sides. The party was a huge success - the last of the people didn't leave until 3:00 AM (I, of course, was snuggly tucked in my bed by 1:00).
Tomorrow, we're meeting our friends Dean & Gisele and their parents who are in from Canada at the Nad Al Sheba club for dinner and to watch the races. I'm very excited - I've been dying to go to the horse races since my last visit to the track in Ruidoso, NM with Lara more than two years ago. Or was it three?! Anyway, I can't wait to see Sheik Maktoum's horses run.
