Christmas was GREAT!! Jim and I woke up early (as we cannot sleep in late due to two, fuzzy creatures that require consta nt pee breaks) and made coffee and Christmas breakfast before opening gifts. First, of course, were the stockings which were filled with small goodies - there was even a stocking for Amstel & Guiness full of bones and new collars.

Jim did really well with gifts for me (pearl & diamond earrings, golf clubs, home knick knacks, golf accessories, carved jewlery box) and I kind of bombed out for him - men are so hard to buy for. I think he liked the book and the golf shirt, but the hockey back was a bust - too small for the equipment.
The day after Christmas (a.k.a. "Boxing Day), we drove out to the camel and horse race tracks and had an amusing afternoon watching the camels walking around with the little children riding them. We also went to the Nad Al Sheba Club and believe we have found our new golf club! It's really nice and also affiliated with the horse track, so we'll be able to go to the World Cup.
That evening, we were invited to two parties so we popped in both and had a nice time meeting new folks.
Hmmm... a few days passed - I'm sure I was quite productive and then it was New Year's Eve. Jim and I decided not to do a big night out at some club or hotel party and had a small dinner party instead. Our American friends, Mike and Jennifer, came over to enjoy Jim's mastery of the grill - rib eyes and lobster! Yummmm!!! Oh, and of course my martinis! We really had a great time, I passed out just after midnight and Jim stayed up until 3:00 talking to friends and family in Canada. I got up around 4:00 AM and actually got ahold of a few people (katie, where were you?!) and chatted until the sun came up.
We both slept in late on Jan 1 and went to this little cafe, Lime Tree, I'd been dying to eat at - it was delicious!! it reminded me of Empire Cafe but without the fabulous dessert collection! After breakast, we went down to the "electronics district" to have our computer "built." yes, people - we're finally going to have an internet connection in the house! We're giving my old laptop to my mom and Jim built us a cool new desktop for the house. After the computer stop, we went down to the souqs for a shopping and then back home to fry up some spicy buffalo wings. We were so excited about making our own wings, we bought a little fryer!! Now maybe I'll tackle fried shrimp or prawn balls?
Oh, and did I mention that Jim got his new car? Well, new to him. He tries to say he's not excited, but he's absolutley beside himself about this new ride. Geeez. boys will be boys. At least now we have two vehicles.
Moms will be here in 3 days!!! Wedding countdown: 6 days!! Miss everybody so much and wish you were here in paradise with us! LOVE!
