I’m going back on WW next week. I haven’t gained any (well, maybe fluctuating between 1-2 lbs), but I haven’t lost any either. I have a sneaking suspicion that I’ll be so utterly depressed by his absence that I’ll simply starve myself into a size 8. Riiiight.

One of my favorite co-workers is leaving the firm tomorrow. Her and her family are starting a new life in Marble Falls. I am so happy for her and wish her all the best. I know my day will come when I, too, will have a family and a full, happy life to look forward to outside of work and going out partying with the girls. To that end, we took her out last night for some a-dult beverages. It happened to be Pilsner Urquell Night, so for every beer I ordered after 7:00, I got to keep the pint glass. My trusty driver, Gil, drove me home with my “breakfast set” in tow.

I go for a $15 lunch and come back to the office with a $400 crush. I am in LOVE with this magnificent sterling and garnet cuff-type bracelet at Argenta Silver. TOTALLY CRUSHING FOR THIS PIECE OF JEWELRY!!!

We exchanged the crappy flash Minolta camera for the "new" version of my old canon. I think I'll be much happier with the results.

When we returned it, they asked why (so they could tell the manufactuer) and the guy actually typed in "flash sucks." Classic. He said it was the third one returned because of the flash.

Despite the looming countdown that silently booms in my head and heart, we managed to have yet another wonderful weekend. Every day I grow more and more thankful for the steadfast and insightful friends that, although sometimes out of sight, are never out of mind. Sometimes I can feel Lara squeezing my hand to let me know what I’m doing is OK, or I can hear Jennifer with both hands on my back, pushing me toward the right decision. Of course, there’s Mom, holding the back of my shirt to be sure I won’t fall. I feel blessed to have all of them in my life, especially now when so many corners must be turned without knowing what lies ahead.

All that mush aside, I’ve wrenched my back. Golf isn’t supposed to feel like a contact sport. Maybe if I’d make more contact with the ball rather than the rock hard ground, I would not be feeling like a train wreck. I think I’ll have a double dose of muscle relaxers and head for the hot tub (with a bottle of red).
